AGRICULTURE

The Schlattgut is nestled on a picturesque meadow terrace above Herrliberg, offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape. Our farm combines tradition and sustainable agriculture, creating a warm, authentic environment for both visitors and our animals. Home to a variety of animals—including 40 cows, 35 cattle and calves, 950 laying hens, two donkeys, three rabbits and six cats. The Schlattgut is a place where nature and farming life come together in harmony. Visitors can experience the charm of a working farm while enjoying the beauty of the Swiss countryside.

Area
With 36 hectares of agricultural land, the Schlattgut is one of the medium-sized farms in Switzerland. Most of the land is used to produce feed for our own animals, while our arable fields yield about three hectares of wheat and five hectares of maize. The farm operates under the ÖLN – IP Suisse label, ensuring environmentally friendly and animal-friendly production practices.
Dairy farming
Our dairy cows are one of the two pillars of the Schlattgut. They allow us to produce high-quality, sustainable milk and dairy products, which form an essential part of our farm’s offerings.
Laying hens
Our laying hens are the other pillar of the Schlattgut. Thanks to them, we can provide fresh eggs and maintain a sustainable, responsible approach to animal husbandry that we are proud of.
